A small impression line and crack in the gloss emulsion on the bottom edge left through the word Cadiz. Light album corner indentations. Otherwise a few very light surface marks to the front. Britannic (HMHS) 770703 Britannic (HMHS) White Star Line A lovely and scarce monochrome art card featuring the Britannic as a hospital ship. She was sunk on 21st November 1916 off Kea Island, Greece, soon after this card was written on 27th September 1916, but not postally used. The card mentions that the ship was anchored off "Castle Point" (presume the point off Cowes, Isle of Wight). This would be prior to her penultimate voyage to the Mediterranean from Southampton on 24th September. Very light corner and edge wear and clean to the front with a little very light surface marking and a couple of tiny foxing dots. Very light album corner marks. Minimal marking / ageing to the reverse. (VG) SOLD!

Bulford 546506 Bulford Blandford Shipping Co. Ltd., London (Fred Olsen managers) An art card produced by the ship builders Sasebo Heavy Industries, featuring the tanker Bulford on 1968. She became the Casterbridge in 1972, Amathus in 1979 and was broken up in 1981 after only 13 years. The card commemorates her christening with art by M. Kikkawa. Bulgaria 600208 Bulgaria Hamburg Amerika Linie (HAPAG) An early, undivided back, sepia printed postcard by Max Marcus of Berlin printed to celebrate the return of the Bulgaria to Germany in April 1899. The Bulgaria encountered a hurricane in the Atlantic in 1899 and was presumed lost. She turned up in the Azores several weeks later and Captain Schmidt was hailed a hero on her return to Germany. Card features views of the Kaiser's visit to the ship and Kapitan Schmidt on the bridge of the vessel. Advert for Mellins food to the bottom edge. A little corner and edge wear and light album corner marks. A little light marking / surface marking to the front. The reverse is printed upside down, with a small collector's cachet top right.
