A lovely and scarce monochrome art card featuring the Britannic as a hospital ship. She was sunk on 21st November 1916 off Kea Island, Greece, soon after this card was written on 27th September 1916, but not postally used. The card mentions that the ship was anchored off "Castle Point" (presume the point off Cowes, Isle of Wight). This would be prior to her penultimate voyage to the Mediterranean from Southampton on 24th September. Very light corner and edge wear and clean to the front with a little very light surface marking and a couple of tiny foxing dots. Very light album corner marks.
