Villagarcia 802409 Villagarcia Hamburg - Sudamerika (H.S.D.G.) A sepia printed photo postcard featurig the Villagarcia (incorrect spelling of Villagracia on the postcard!). She was built in 1908 for Hamburg-Sud as the Santa Maria. After service in Britain she was sold back to Hamburg-Sud in 1922 and became the Villagarcia. She was scrapped in 1932. However the card was used after that refit in 1902 from Hamburg to Sweden. Light corner and edge wear and a little postal ink marking to the front top centre. Although the card is a pre 1897 card from the name of the vessel it was postally used in 1899 at Oldenburg. A little light corner and edge wear. A tiny knock to the top right corner tip. Album corner marks / indentations. Light impression from postal cancellation centre right and a lighter impression top left from another postal cancel. Otherwise very light marking to the front. Auguste Victoria 6002223 Auguste Victoria Hamburg Amerika Linie (HAPAG) An early, undivided company art card featuring the Auguste Victoria (1897-1904). Card is by Muhlmeister & Johler of Hamburg. Postally used in 1898 with a nice Deutsch Amerika Seepost Hamburg-New York cancellation. Sadly not in the best of condition. A little corner rounding and edge wear and a small edge tear on the left edge a third of the way down. A couple of light creases on the top left corner.
