On 25th November 1908 she suffered explosions and a fire as she was departing from Valletta and driven on to the beach near Fort Ricasoli, Kalkara, Malta. There was large loss of life amongst the pilgrims on board bound for Mecca. A little corner and edge wear and light album corner marks / indentations. Postally used in 190(3)? at Port Said on board the City of Calcutta. Very light corner wear and in clean condition to the front with a little very light surface marking. Sadly one of the Port Said postage stamps on the reverse has been carefully removed with adhesive marks remaining. A little marking / ageing to the reverse otherwise with a nice Agent's Cachet.
