A scarce company art card by Muhlmeister & Johler featuring the Victoria Luise. She was built in 1900 as the Deutschland. In 1910 she was converted to a cruise ship and renamed Victoria Luise. She operated as such until WW1 when she was converted to an auxiliary cruiser. After WW1 she became the Hansa. Card shows her in her white hulled cruising livery. Light corner and edge wear. Very light marking to the front with a small "1" inked in the top right corner tip. Very light marking / ageing to the reverse with inked date top left an inked "1" in the stamp box and some ink smudges bottom left. (VG) |
