The cards also come with a paper envelope which they were originally sold in. the cards are by Raphael Tuck and all have a textured finish to give the appearance of an oil painting (Oilfacsims). The cards are titled - "Port Said - De Lesseps Statue", "Suez Canal", "Coaling a Port Said" and "Port Said - Suez Canal Cos Offices". All the postcards have extremely light corner wear, extremely light marking to the front and very light marking / ageing to the reverse. The cards all appear to have a toning mark to the front down the right edge, but I think it is a printing issue. the envelope is a bit tatty, with what looks like the remnants of a sticky label to the front, top left. |
