White surface spots to the front near the funnel, aft mast, left edge and top edge of the card. Otherwise a little light marking to the front. Admiral Graf Spee 1321201 Admiral Graf Spee Naval A photo postcard featuring the wreck of the German pocket battleship Admiral Graf Spee after the battle of the River Plate. Photos is by R. Gatti a local photographer. Light corner and edge wear. A few light surface marks to the front with a couple of extremely light surface undulations. The reverse is printed upside down with light marking / ageing and a few light foxing marks. (VG) SOLD!
Admiral Graf Spee 1321203 Admiral Graf Spee Naval A photo postcard featuring the German pocket battleship Admiral Graf Spee. I believe the photo is taken when she was in the River Plate before she was scuttled in December 1939. The photo is stamped R. Gatti to the reverse, who was a local photographer at the time. A little corner and edge wear, sadly with creasing to the top right corner. Very light surface bend top centre and a light surface bend to the bottom right corner. Otherwise a little light surface marking to the front. The reverse is printed upside down with R. Gatti cachet. A little light marking / ageing to the reverse with a couple of foxing marks. (G) SOLD!

Appomattox 1302002 Appomattox Elders & Fyffes An early sepia toned photo postcard featuring the Appomattox in an unidentified dock, which is possibly either in Manchester or Liverpool or the surrounding area as the barge in the foreground has "Manchester Ship Canal Company" painted on the side. the Appomattox was built in 1893 for the Chesapeake & Ohio SS Co., West Hartlepool. She passed to Elder & Fyffes in 1902 and stayed with them until 1910. She then became the Seyyar for Turkish owners. Very light corner and edge wear. Album corner impressions. Auguste Victoria 878301 Auguste Victoria Hamburg Amerika Linie (HAPAG) A lovely, early, undivided back, art card featuring the Auguste Victoria departing from Hamburg. She was built in 1889 as the Augusta Victoria becoming the Auguste Victoria in 1897. She was sold to Russia in 1904. Card is by Meissner & Buch and art is by Hans Bohrdt. Postally used in Split in 1900 with an Austrian stamp. Extremely light corner wear, with very light album corner impressions. Barrabool 1319201 Barrabool P&O A company printed art postcard featuring the Barrabool of 1922. Not postally used but written on board the Barrabool. I cannot decide whether the date written is in 1926 or 1936. If it was written in April 1936 this will be on her last voyage to Australia. She broke down on the return journey and arrived in Tilbury in July 1936 to be sold and broken up after only 14 years. Extremely light corner wear and minimal album corner marks. Bavarian 1302703 Bavarian Allan Line An art postcard by Delittle Fenwick & Co, featuring the Bavarian. Early art is by Odin Rosenvinge. Postally used in 190(8)? A little corner and edge wear. Light toning marking around the edges of the card to the front, which seems to be the norm for this series of postcards. Light album corner marks / impressions. Otherwise light marking to the front. Bayardo 1112804 Bayardo T. Wilson Sons & Co Ltd., Hull (Wilson Line) A company printed art postcard featuring the Bayardo with art by Frank H. Mason. She was built in Hull and completed in July 1911. She did not last long as she was wrecked in the Humber on the Hebble Shoal on 21st January 1912 whilst on a voyage from Gothenburg to Hull. Very light corner and edge wear and very light album corner impressions. Extremely light surface foxing spotting mainly on the right side of the card (mostly only visible when viewed across the light). Very light marking / ageing to the reverse with a couple of very light foxing spots. (VG) SOLD!
Baychimo 1315401 Baychimo Hudson's Bay Company, London A photo postcard featuring the Baychimo. She was built in 1915 as the Angermanelfven for German owners. She became the Baychimo for the Hudson Bay Company in 1921 and traded along the north coast of Canada, visiting trading posts and collecting fur pelts. In October 1931 she became trapped in ice off Alaska and was abandoned. She became famous as the "ghost ship" as she didn't sink and was sighted a number of times in the following decades. The last sighting of her was in 1969 frozen in an ice pack!! The postcard was written by someone on board and posted in Dartmouth in 1922. Presumably the photo shows her in Dartmouth with the writer stating that they are alongside the Thespis (Lamport & Holt 1901 to 1930??). Some corner and edge wear. Small crease to the bottom left corner tip. Heavy surface impression from postal cancellation top left. Numerous light surface impressions and undulations. Otherwise light marking to the front. Berengaria 1318303 Berengaria Cunard Line A photo postcard by F.G.O. Stuart featuring the Harbour Board Offices, Town Quay and the Floating Dock, Southampton. The ship in the floating dock looks like the Berengaria. Extremely light corner wear. Very light album corner impressions. Otherwise extremely light marking to the front. Bermuda 1321101 Bermuda Furness Bermuda Line A Tuck's art postcard featuring a view of the Main Lounge with Stage on board the Bermuda. She was built in 1927 and only lasted for a few years. She was broken up following two separate fires at Hamilton and Belfast in 1931. Extremely light corner wear. Extremely light marking to the front and reverse. (VG+) RESERVED!

Chindwara 1319602 Chindwara British India Steam Nav. (BISN) A sepia toned photo postcard with linen surface finish, featuring the Chindwara. She was built in 1912 as the Arabistan and became the Chindwara for BISN in 1913. She was broken up in 1934. The photo shows her with a damaged bow, presumably following a collision in the River Weser on 20th August 1922, with the steamer Manordilo, the latter being sunk and with Chindwara suffering no more than a crumpled bow. Very light corner and edge wear. Very light marking to the front. The reverse is printed upside down. Some marking and age toning to the reverse. (VG) SOLD!
