A little corner rounding and edge wear. A light crease / crinkle to the bottom right corner. Very light marking to the front with a light surface impression line down the centre of the card. A little light corner and edge wear, but with a small knock and extremely light surface crinkles to the top left corner tip. Impression / mark from postal cancellation top right corner. She was built in 1865 and purchased in 1868 by D'Oyly & Ransom for a service linking Bristol, Ilfracombe and Tenby. She was sold in 1877 and broken up in 1888. Edda 6543245 Edda Burmeister & Wain An early, undivided back, printed postcard featuring the paddle steamer Edda of 1893 arriving at Warnemunde. She was built for DFDS by Burmeister & Wain, but rejected by DFDS due to stability problems. She was then chartered to DFDS by the builders from 1893 to 1905. In 1905 she was converted to a cargo ship and became the Kureren (1905-1916) and then Dronning Margrethe (1916-1918). Card is postally used in 1901 at Warnemunde.
