A printed postcard by the Jewish Welfare Board featuring the army / navy transport vessel Mount Vernon. She was built as the Kronprinzessin Cecilie for NDL in 1907, becoming the Mount Vernon in 1917. Some corner and edge wear. A light bend with surface crinkle to the reverse on the bottom right corner. A light surface crinkle on the left edge, top. Rather grubby to the front with some age toning and light foxing spots. The reverse has marks / impressions from an erased message, address written to the reverse. Otherwise a little grubby / aged. A sepia toned photo postcard featuring the USS Aeolus. She was built in 1900 as the Grosser Kurfurst for NDL. In 1917 she became USS Aeolus until 1923. Some corner rounding and edge wear. A small knock to the bottom left corner tip. A little light marking to the front, but a light crease / crinkle from the middle of the bottom edge up to the centre of the card. A little marking / ageing to the reverse. (G)
