A little corner rounding and edge wear. A very light surface crinkle on the top right corner. Light surface marking to the front with a couple of tiny surface indentations. A little light marking / ageing to the reverse. (VG-) SOLD!
Argyle 1124109 Argyle A sepia toned photo postcard by Shaw of Grimsby, featuring the Argyle. She was built in 1873 for Bailey & Leetham and joined Wilson's in 1903. She served the company until 1914, before being scuttled as a block ship in Scapa Flow. Very light corner and edge wear. Numerous surface bends and impression lines to the centre and left side of the card. Very light marking to the front with some light marks down the centre of the card which appear to be part of the printing of the photo. Very light marking / ageing to the reverse. (G+) SOLD!

She served the company from 1910 to 1932, transferring to Ellerman's Wilson Line in 1917). Several Wilson's operated barges are also in the foreground. Light corner and edge wear and light album corner marks / impressions. A little light surface marking to the front and a couple of light surface indentations top right. A little marking / ageing to the reverse with some marks on the top edge and a couple of light foxing spots. (VG) SOLD!
Borodino 1129501 Borodino A monochrome photo type postcard by Barnard & Straker of Hull, featuring an artists rendition of the Borodino. She was built in 1911 and remained with the company until 1940. The company became Ellerman Wilson Line in 1917. Very light corner and edge wear. Light album corner impressions. A little very light surface marking to the front with a light surface bend top right. Extremely light marking / ageing to the reverse with a small ink mark top right corner tip. (VG) SOLD!
Buffalo 1124114 Buffalo A very early sepia toned photo postcard by Barnard of Hull, featuring a view of the Buffalo, very rarely seen on postcards. She served the company from 1885 until 1904 when she was broken up. Very light corner and edge wear and very light album corner marks / impressions. Very light marking to the front. Extremely light marking to the reverse with a couple of tiny foxing dots. (VG) SOLD!
Buffalo 1124123 Buffalo An early sepia toned photo postcard by A.J. Wellsted of Hull, featuring a nicely view of the Buffalo in Alexandra Dock, Hull. Card shows a wealth of detail on the ship and it's surroundings. The bow of the Doxford Turret ship Pearlmoor of 1905 can be seen on the extreme right of the photo. The Buffalo served the company from 1907 until 1917 when she was sunk by U-70. Card is postally used in 1914. A little corner and edge wear with small dinks to the top left and bottom left corner tips. Light album corner marks / impressions. Impression from postal cancellation top left and some light blue marks top centre. Otherwise. very light marking to the front with a few tiny surface indentations. Very light marking to the reverse. Castello 1124116 Castello An early sepia toned photo postcard by Barnard & Straker of Hull, featuring the Castello. She was built in 1896 by Wm Doxford to the "turret ship" design. In 1913 she was sold to Greek owners and sunk in 1915. Some corner rounding and edge wear. A surface impression line across the top of the card approx 1" from the top edge. Another surface impression line across the top left corner. A couple of light surface bends. Some surface marking and sepia marking to the front. A little marking / ageing to the reverse with a couple of foxing marks. (G+) SOLD!
Consuelo 1124119 Consuelo A photo postcard featuring a fine view of the Consuelo. She was built in 1900 for T. Wilson and served the company until 1908, when she became the Cairnrona for Cairn Line. In 1911 she passed to Cunard to become the Albania. In 1912 she passed to Bank Line as the Poleric. She was broken up in 1929. The printing on the reverse of the card is a little off centre. Light corner and edge wear. Some very light surface bends / undulations to the left side of the card. A little pink staining top edge left. A little sepia toning around the edges of the card. Ship name lightly pencilled to the reverse. Otherwise, light marking / ageing with a couple of light foxing spots. (VG-) SOLD!

Hindoo 1124121 Hindoo A sepia printed postcard featuring the Hindoo (1906-1924) at Algiers. Written, but not postally used in 1917 by someone on board at Algiers. A little light corner and edge wear. A surface bend with crinkle bottom right. Impression from postal cancellation top right. Note that the white line from the bottom edge, left, up to the stern of the ship is in the original printing of the card and not a mark on the card. A little light marking / ageing to the front.
