An early matt finish sepia photo postcard featuring a nice detailed view of the Cromarty with a cargo of wood and a bit of a list. She was built in 1892 as the Abendana and served as the Cromarty from 1899 to 1919. In 1919 she was sold to Soc Maritime Belge as the Michel and broken up in 1922. Card was postally used in Sharpness (possibly the location of the photograph) in 1912 by someone on board the vessel. A little corner and edge wear and light album corner marks. A little marking to the front with some surface silvering of the photo. Light impression top left from postal cancellation. Very light marking / ageing to the reverse. (VG-)
