1084101 | Eclair | A photo postcard by Phillipse & Lees, Ilfracombe, showing an early view of Ilfracombe harbour with the paddle steamer Eclair in the harbour. She was built in 1865 and purchased in 1868 by D'Oyly & Ransom for a service linking Bristol, Ilfracombe and Tenby. She was sold in 1877 and broken up in 1888. Not sure about the date of the printing of the card. Minimal corner and edge wear. Light album corner marks / impressions. A few very light surface impressions and light marking to the front. The reverse is printed upside down, has neatly pencilled notes about the vessel and has light marking / ageing. (VG) | £7.99 |
