1282701 | Friesenland / Blohm & Voss HA 139 | A photo postcard showing the Blohm & Voss HA 139 catapault floatplane "Nordwind" flying over the catapault ship Friesenland. The "Nordwind" was one of the first prototypes of the HA 139 floatplane from 1936. In 1937 they operated a service from the Azores to New York with the catapault ship Schwalbenland stationed at the Azores and the Friesenland at New York. Extremely light corner wear. Very light album corner impressions. A tiny surface bend near the funnel of the ship. Very light marking to the front. Very light marking / ageing to the reverse with a foxing mark in the address area. (VG) | SOLD! |

1253101 | Schwabenland | A company photo postcard featuring the seaplane tender and catapault ship Schwabenland. She was built in 1925 as the cargo ship Schwarzenfels for DDG Hansa Line. In 1933 she was sold to Deutschen Lufthansa and converted into a seaplane tender and catapault ship (note the seaplane on her deck aft). She was sunk in 1944. Postally used in 193(3?) in Germany. Extremely light corner wear. A couple of surface impression lines across the top third of the card and some light impressions from the postal cancellation top left. Otherwise very light marking to the front. Very light marking / ageing to the reverse. (VG) | SOLD! |
