1230702 | Sud Americano | A photo postcard from the ship builders Deutsche Werke, Kiel, featuring the Sud Americano which was built by then in 1929. One her maiden voyage she was found to be too slow and had engine problems, so she was handed back to the ship builders by her owners. She was renamed Yakima Star by her builders in 1931 and then sold to NDL where she became the Weser in 1934. Extremely light corner wear and extremely light marking to the front. Blue staining and water marking to the reverse, which may be from when the card was produced. I have seen other similar cards from the same company with this problem. (VG+/VG-) | £6.99 |
