1214501 | Fearless | An early sepia toned photo postcard featuring the wreck of the Fearless at Egremont with her back broken. She was built in 1878 as the Dotterel for the Cork Steamship Co. She became the Fearless in 1903. She was wrecked following a collision with the vessel Patricia off Egremont whilst leaving the Mersey on 6th February 1906. The following day she broke her back and was lost. Card is from the Eclipse Series by Arthur Shaw of Seacombe. Light corner and edge wear. Album corner impressions and a few light surface indentations to the front. Light marking to the front with a little surface silvering of the photo. Light marking / ageing to the reverse.
