A scarce company art card by Muhlmeister & Johler featuring the Victoria Luise. She was built in 1900 as the Deutschland. In 1910 she was converted to a cruise ship and renamed Victoria Luise. She operated as such until WW1 when she was converted to an auxiliary cruiser. After WW1 she became the Hansa. Card is postally used in 1913 in the Hudson Terminal, New York. Light corner and edge wear and a small knock / closed edge tear (3mm) bottom right (hardly noticable). Very light album corner marks and a few tiny postal ink marks top left. Minimal marking to the reverse. (VG) |
