Swakopmund 1334404 Swakopmund A photo postcard by W. Fisher of Cape Town, featuring the Swakopmund. She was built in 1904 as the Florida for Dampfs-Ges "Argo", but became the Professor Woermann in the same year for Woermann Line. In 1907 she passed to Hamburg Amerika Line becoming the Swakopmund. She continued with them until 1919 when she was taken over by the British Government under the same name. In 1921 she was sold to the Eastern & Australian SS Co as the Arafura. Not sure whether the card shows her during her time with Hamburg Amerika or the British Government. A little corner and edge wear, with a small knock to the bottom left corner tip and also some creasing to the top right corner tip. A couple of light surface undulations.
