Heymann and has been preserved as the Claus D. A little light corner and edge wear with a little light marking on the edges of the card. A couple of very light foxing type spots in the sky area. Bulgaria 600208 Bulgaria An early, undivided back, sepia printed postcard by Max Marcus of Berlin printed to celebrate the return of the Bulgaria to Germany in April 1899. The Bulgaria encountered a hurricane in the Atlantic in 1899 and was presumed lost. She turned up in the Azores several weeks later and Captain Schmidt was hailed a hero on her return to Germany. Card features views of the Kaiser's visit to the ship and Kapitan Schmidt on the bridge of the vessel. Advert for Mellins food to the bottom edge. A little corner and edge wear and light album corner marks. A little light marking / surface marking to the front. The reverse is printed upside down, with a small collector's cachet top right.
