An early, undivided back, printed postcard featuring the paddle steamer Edda of 1893 arriving at Warnemunde. She was built for DFDS by Burmeister & Wain, but rejected by DFDS due to stability problems. She was then chartered to DFDS by the builders from 1893 to 1905. In 1905 she was converted to a cargo ship and became the Kureren (1905-1916) and then Dronning Margrethe (1916-1918). Card is postally used in 1901 at Warnemunde. Very light marking to the front with inked message written around the margins. Very light corner wear with small knock and surface crinkle to the bottom right corner tip. Light surface imprint top left from postal cancellation. Light marking and age tanning to the reverse with a little crinkling to the top left corner tip. (VG)
