An early photo postcard by Woods & Singleton of Totnes, featuring the wreck of the cargo ship Jebba at Boat Tail, Hope Cove, near Salcombe, Devon. She was wrecked on 18th March 1907 whilst on a voyage from West Africa to Liverpool. She was built in 1896 as the Albertville for Cie Belge Maritime du Congo and became the Jebba in 1898. Extremely light corner and edge wear and very light album corner impressions. Some surface silvering and sepia toning around the edges of the card. Otherwise light marking to the front. Very light marking / ageing to the reverse with a few tiny foxing spots. (VG) |
