Postally used on 17th August 1903 with a Deutsche Seepost Ost-Asiatische Linie cancellation. This is her maiden voyage to Asia which commenced on 5th August. Very light corner and edge wear. Sadly an area of surface residue near the bow and another near the stern from what looks like an old photo mounting hinge. Sierra Nevada 654388 Sierra Nevada Norddeutscher Lloyd (North German Lloyd) A company photo postcard featuring the Sierra Nevada and wishing Christmas Greetings. She was built in 1921 as the Antonio Delfino for Hamburg Sud and chartered by NDL for two years from her owners in 1932 to 1934 being renamed Sierra Nevada. Skutari 1065503 Skutari Norddeutscher Lloyd (North German Lloyd) A colour printed postcard featuring a view of the port of Genova. In the foreground is the steamer Skutari. She was built in 1890 as the Serapis for DDG Kosmos of Germany. She served Norddeutscher Lloyd from 1906 to 1913 and is not often seen on postcards. She was sold to Campanella, Genoa and renamed Albaro in 1913. Card is postally used in Genova in 1913. A little light corner and edge wear. Minimal marking to the front with a little very light surface wear to the sky area along the top of the card. Date inked to the reverse is a later addition I think. Strassburg 6543532 Strassburg Norddeutscher Lloyd (North German Lloyd) An early, undivided back, printed postcard featuring the Strassburg of 1900. In 1904 she was sold to Hamburg Amerika as the Slavonia. Her maiden voyage in 1900 was to take troops to Kiautschou, China, for service in the Boxer Rebellion. This postcard shows the embarkation of troops for East Asia on board the vessel at Bremerhaven Kaisertage. Card is by Sander & Sohn of Geestemunde. Card is postally used in 1900 at Bremerhaven. A little corner and edge wear and some surface pitting along the top edge, down the left edge and near the bottom left corner. Very light album corner impressions and light impression from postal cancellation top left. Otherwise light marking to the front. A little marking / ageing to the reverse. (VG-) £8.99
Strassburg 6543533 Strassburg Norddeutscher Lloyd (North German Lloyd) An early, undivided back, printed postcard featuring the Strassburg of 1900.
