An original envelope containing eight sepia printed postcards featuring Japanese warships from the inter-war years. The envelope is rather worn with a split down the left side. Details of cards are listed below.
1. Haruna - Extremely light corner wear. Minimal marking to the front. Very light marking to the reverse with a couple of extremely light foxing marks. (VG)
2. Kirishima / Kongo - Extremely light corner wear. Minimal marking to the front. Very light marking to the reverse. (VG)
3. Kako / Furutaka - Extremely light corner wear. Minimal marking to the front. Very light marking to the reverse with a couple of extremely light foxing marks. (VG)
4. Riujo - Very light corner wear. Very light marking to the front with a small mark in the sky just behind the foremast. Very light marking to the reverse with a couple of extremely light foxing marks. (VG)
5. Nachi / Miyoko / Ashigara / Haguro - Very light corner wear. Very light marking to the front with a little light surface marking near the left edge. Light marking to the reverse with a couple of extremely light foxing marks. (VG/VG-)

An original envelope containing 12 black & white printed postcards showing ships of the Imperial Japanese fleet in stormy weather. The cards were I believe issued between 1918 and 1932. Most are art cards with a couple being printed photos (I think!). Details of the cards are (translated from the captions on the cards) :
1. Fleet voyage in stormy weather.
2. Fleet rushing forward in stormy weather.
3. Submarine rushing forward.
4. Majestic voyage of the fleet.
5. The third squadron being swallowed up by stormy weather.
6. Cruiser voyage.
7. A struggling 30,000 ton giant ship.
8. Nagato's raging voyage.
9. Fleet in raging waves.
10. 10,000 ton class voyage, Nichi, Myoko, Ashigara, Haguro type.
11. Voyage of the latest destroyer fleet.
12. Activity of the light cruiser fleet.
All the cards are in clean condition to the front with a little extremely light surface spotting (only visible when viewed across the light). Extremely light marking to the reverse. Overall the cards are (VG+). The envelope is a little damaged with ageing to the reverse. |
