Prinzess Marie 6313339 Prinzess Marie Ballin's Dampfschiff Rheederei Gesellschaft(Albert Ballin) An early, undivided back printed postcard featuring the paddle steamer Prinzess Marie. She was built in 1877 as the Prinses Marie for the dutch company SMZ. She was chartered to Ballin's from 1896 to 1898 and renamed Prinzess Marie. Postally used as a Feldpost Karte, with military cachet, in 1914, a long time after the card was produced! Very light corner and edge wear. Light marking to the front with light imprint from postal cancellation top left. Light marking and age tanning to the reverse. (VG) RESERVED!
Waterville 1137806 Waterville Balls & Stansfield, North Shields A photo postcard featuring the early cargo ship Waterville with a large cargo of timber and a slight list! She was built in 1891 and served the company until 1915 when she passed to the New Line SS Co, Leith. She was wrecked in 1917 off Lerwick. Card is postally used in 1908 at Newport, South Wales, I think by someone on board the vessel. Light corner and edge wear. Surface impression from postal cancellation top left. Very light album corner marks. A couple of surface indentations including an indentation line from the bottom edge to the bow of the vessel. A little light surface marking to the front. Weeroona, Ozone, Hygeia 1134602 Weeroona, Ozone, Hygeia Bay Excursion Steamers, Melbourne A lovely art postcard featuring three paddle steamers from the Bay Excursion Steamers company of Melbourne, Australia. They are the Weeroona which served the company from 1912 to 1951. The Ozone which was in service for the company from 1918 to 1925 and the Hygeia which served the company from 1918 to 1931. Therefore I assume the image depicts a scene from the 1920's. Card is by B.R. Gowan. Very light corner and edge wear with a light bend down the left edge of the card with corresponding surface crinkle. Extremely light album corner impressions / marks. Otherwise extremely light marking to the front. Extremely light marking to the reverse with a small foxing spot on the right edge. (VG) SOLD!
