Prinz Ludwig (HMT) 1335701 Prinz Ludwig (HMT) British Government A photo postcard featuring the troopship Prinz Ludwig. She was built in 1906 for Norddeutscher Lloyd and served the British Government as a troopship from 1919 to 1920. She became the Orcades for Orient Line in 1920 and was broken up in 1925. Some corner and edge wear and light album corner marks / impressions. A very light surface bend, top centre. Prinzessin Heinrich 1339610 Prinzessin Heinrich Hamburg Amerika Linie (HAPAG) A company printed art postcard featuring the paddle steamer Prinzessin Heinrich. She was built in 1896 for services in the Elbe to Helgoland. From 1904 to 1905 she was chartered for services from Genoa to San Remo, Nice and Monaco. Card is by Muhlmeister & Johler of Hamburg. The card was postally used in 1905 at Monaco and sent to Lingen, Germany. Very light corner and edge wear. Extremely light surface impression from the postal cancellation top right. Segura 12889279 Segura Royal Mail Steam Packet Co (RMSP) A company sepia printed postcard featuring the Segura. She was built in 1893 for the Union Steamship Co (later Union Castle). In 1906 she became the Segura for RMSP. She only carried this name for three years before being renamed Pembrokeshire in 1909. Very light corner and edge wear and very light album corner impressions. Swakopmund 1334404 Swakopmund Hamburg Amerika Linie (HAPAG) A photo postcard by W. Fisher of Cape Town, featuring the Swakopmund. She was built in 1904 as the Florida for Dampfs-Ges "Argo", but became the Professor Woermann in the same year for Woermann Line. In 1907 she passed to Hamburg Amerika Line becoming the Swakopmund. She continued with them until 1919 when she was taken over by the British Government under the same name. In 1921 she was sold to the Eastern & Australian SS Co as the Arafura. Not sure whether the card shows her during her time with Hamburg Amerika or the British Government. A little corner and edge wear, with a small knock to the bottom left corner tip and also some creasing to the top right corner tip. A couple of light surface undulations. Very light marking to the front. Photographers cachet to the reverse. A small area of residue to the reverse on the bottom edge, otherwise very light marking / ageing. (G+) SOLD!
