Ortona 1296202 Ortona Pacific Steam Navigation Co. A very early, litho printed, company postcard featuring the Ortona. Card is by Andrew Reid of Newcastle. Ortona was built in 1899 for the Pacific Steam Navigation Co, but served on the combined service with Orient Line. The name of the company has been overprinted with the Orient-Pacific Line name under which the joint service was marketed. Some corner and edge wear and quite have foxing marking to both sides of the card as is common for these early litho printed cards. Otherwise light marking / ageing. (G) £5.99
Oruba 1296201 Oruba Pacific Steam Navigation Co. A very early, litho printed, company postcard featuring the Oruba. Card is by Andrew Reid of Newcastle. Oruba was built in 1889 for the Pacific Steam Navigation Co, but served on the combined service with Orient Line. Some corner and edge wear with surface crinkling to the top right corner. Quite heavy foxing marking to both sides of the card as is common for these early litho printed cards. Otherwise light marking / ageing. (G) SOLD!

Prinz Ludwig (aka Prince Ludwig) (HMT) 1289602 Prinz Ludwig (aka Prince Ludwig) (HMT) British Government A photo postcard featuring the troopship Prinz Ludwig (also referred to as Prince Ludwig). She was built in 1906 for Norddeutscher Lloyd and served the British Government as a troopship from 1919 to 1920. She became the Orcades for Orient Line in 1920 and was broken up in 1925. Riviera 1292002 Riviera South Eastern & Chatham Railway A real photo postcard featuring the departure of the Boulogne boat from Folkestone. She is the Riviera (name visible on bow), built in 1911. She served as a seaplane carrier in WW1. Returned to her owners after WW1 she passed to Southern Railway in 1923 and was withdrawn in 1932. Minimal corner and edge wear. Clean to the front. Rodneystar 1296302 Rodneystar Blue Star Line A photo postcard by Robertson of Gourock, featuring the Rodneystar. Robertson impressed signature bottom right. Rodneystar was built in 1927 at Lithgows, Port Glasgow - the photo was probably taken shortly after completion. She was renamed Rodney Star in 1929. Very light corner and edge wear with the gloss finish not extending to the edges of the card. Otherwise, very light marking to the front. The cards also come with a paper envelope which they were originally sold in. the cards are by Raphael Tuck and all have a textured finish to give the appearance of an oil painting (Oilfacsims). The cards are titled - "Port Said - De Lesseps Statue", "Suez Canal", "Coaling a Port Said" and "Port Said - Suez Canal Cos Offices". All the postcards have extremely light corner wear, extremely light marking to the front and very light marking / ageing to the reverse. The cards all appear to have a toning mark to the front down the right edge, but I think it is a printing issue. the envelope is a bit tatty, with what looks like the remnants of a sticky label to the front, top left. £18.99
