Arauca 6002307 Arauca Hamburg Amerika Linie (HAPAG) A printed postcard featuring the interned cargo ship Arauca at Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale in Florida. She was built in 1939 and sailed on her maiden voyage to Havana and Veracruz in August 1939. At the outbeak of war the Royal Navy cruiser HMS Orion intercepted the Arauca off Port Everglades and fired the first shot of the war in American territory at her. The Arauca made it into Port Everglades harbour where she was interned. She never sailed under this name again and eventually became the US navy vessel USS Saturn in 1942. In nice clean condition to the front with very light corner wear except for a tiny knock to the top right corner tip. Very light marking to the reverse. (VG) £5.99

Auguste Victoria 6002223 Auguste Victoria Hamburg Amerika Linie (HAPAG) An early, undivided company art card featuring the Auguste Victoria (1897-1904). Card is by Muhlmeister & Johler of Hamburg. Postally used in 1898 with a nice Deutsch Amerika Seepost Hamburg-New York cancellation. Sadly not in the best of condition. A little corner rounding and edge wear and a small edge tear on the left edge a third of the way down. A couple of light creases on the top left corner. Light surface indentation line down the card from top left to bottom right. Imprint from postal cancellation bottom right. The pencilled message to the front has either been partially erased or faded. Some marking / ageing to the front. Age toning and some foxing type marking to the reverse with some other marking. Cambridge 946112 Cambridge Great Eastern Railway Co. A sepia printed postcard from the Wyndham Series featuring the steamer Cambridge. She was built in 1887 at Earle's, Hull, and served until 1911 out of Harwich to the continental ports. A little corner rounding and edge wear and a little surface wear on the top left corner. Very light marking to the front. Sadly the whole of the reverse is covered in light glue residue, also with some ageing and foxing spotting. (G) SOLD!

Cap Trafalgar 6002254 Cap Trafalgar Hamburg - Sudamerika (H.S.D.G.) A sepia printed postcard by Levy of Hamburg featuring the Cap Trafalgar. She made her maiden voyage in April 1914 and only served for a couple of months before being requisitioned as an auxiliary cruiser in August 1914. She was sunk when in action with the auxiliary cruiser Carmania in September 1914. In nice clean condition to the front with very light corner wear. Very light marking / ageing to the reverse. She was built as the St Tudno in 1889 and served for Nordsee Linie from 1897 to 1905 when she passed to Hamburg Amerika. Light corner and edge wear and light album corner indentations. Some age tanning and very light foxing type marking to the front, mainly near the right edge. A few very light surface undulations. General 941001 General Deutsche Ost-Afrika Linie A sepia printed postcard featuring the General at Constanza. She was built in 1911 and at the outbreak of the First World War assisted the SMS Goeben and SMS Breslau with their escape from Messina to Constantinople. She followed them there and served as a hospital and accommodation ship for the two naval ships in Constantinople. After that she spent some time in the Black Sea when I assume this photograph was taken. (Note her boarded up promenade decks on the photo and military figures in the foreground).
