She made her first of only two voyages to Baltimore in June 1916, returning to Bremerhaven on 24th August 1916. This card commemorates her return from her first voyage. Weichsel 6543247 Weichsel Naval A printed photo postcard by Dieterle of Kiel featuring the submarine depot ship Weichsel. She was built in 1922 for Deutsche Levante Line as the cargo ship Syra, thrensferred to Hamburg Amerika in 1932 and purchased by the German navy in 1936 to become submarine depot ship Weichsel. She was sunk during a bombing rain in Wilhelmshaven in 1945. Very light corner and edge wear and clean to the front with a couple of very light surface marks. Light marking and ageing to the reverse.
