Bremen 576885 Bremen Norddeutscher Lloyd (North German Lloyd) A sepia toned photo postcard featuring the German cargo carrying submarine Bremen departing for America on her maiden voyage. She was completed in 1916 and lost on her maiden voyage to America. The cause of her loss is a mystery. Hence postcards of this vessel are hard to find. Card is by the Ocean Comfort Company of Bremerhaven. In clean condition to the front with very light corner and edge wear. A light surface indentation line bottom right. Age tanning and a little marking to the reverse. (VG) RESERVED!
Deutschland 608506 Deutschland Norddeutscher Lloyd (North German Lloyd) A sepia printed photo postcard featuring the German cargo submarine Deutschland. She only made a few voyages from 1916 to 1917 to and from the USA, before being converted to a naval vessel. A vignette of her Captain Konig. Title top left is "To the glorious homecoming of the freight submarine Deutschland". Stamp and cancellation from Prague in 1917, but no evidence that the card was written. Very light corner and edge wear and minimal surface marking to the front. Ageing, a stain top centre and light marking to the reverse. (VG) £8.99

Deutschland (Crew) 6085294 Deutschland (Crew) Norddeutscher Lloyd (North German Lloyd) A sepia toned matt finish photo postcard featuring Captain Konig and the crew of the merchant submarine Deutschland. She made her first of only two voyages to Baltimore in June 1916, returning to Bremerhaven on 24th August 1916. This card commemorates her return from her first voyage. Postally used on 13th Sept 1916 as a Feldpost card in Flensburg. Very light corner wear and a light surface indentation top right from the postal cancellation. A little light surface marking. Grimsby Town (GY 81) 780902 Grimsby Town (GY 81) Consolidated Fisheries, Grimsby A lovely photo postcard featuring the trawler Grimsby Town (GY 81). She was built in 1934 and served her owners until 1939 when she was requisitioned as a anti submarine vessel. Sold in 1946 to the Hull Ice Co, she sank later the same year off Iceland. The postcard shows the opening of the new (No.3) fish dock at Grimsby in 1934 with many photographers and onlookers. The trawler was used to cut the ribbon to open the new dock. In nice clean condition to the front, very light corner wear and a little extremely light surface marking. Very light marking to the reverse. (VG) £8.99
