A lovely photo postcard featuring the trawler Grimsby Town (GY 81). She was built in 1934 and served her owners until 1939 when she was requisitioned as a anti submarine vessel. Sold in 1946 to the Hull Ice Co, she sank later the same year off Iceland. The postcard shows the opening of the new (No.3) fish dock at Grimsby in 1934 with many photographers and onlookers. The trawler was used to cut the ribbon to open the new dock. In nice clean condition to the front, very light corner wear and a little extremely light surface marking. Very light marking to the reverse. (VG)
