Main (HMT) 334901 Main (HMT) British Government A photo postcard featuring a detailed view of HMT Main. She was built in 1900 for NDL as the Main. In 1919 she was ceded to the UK and used as a troopship only for two years until she was sold to French interests. Corner and edge wear and light album corner indentations. Numerous surface indentations and a small crease across the bottom right corner tip. A small crinkle on the top edge near the foremast. The reverse is age tanned and marked. (VG-) £6.99

Windhuk 1214301 Windhuk British Government A photo postcard featuring the HMT Windhuk, flying the armistice flag for the European war in Sydney in 1919. Card is by W.A. Shearon of Sydney. The Windhuk was built in 1906 as the Gertrud Woermann. She became the Windhuk in 1907 for Hamburg Amerika Line. In 1919 she was handed to the British Government and for a short time operated as a troop transport. She was sold to Ellerman in 1920 to become the City of Genoa. Light corner and edge wear with a small knock to the top left corner tip. A very light surface bend to the bottom right corner tip. Impression from postal cancellation across the top third of the card. A light surface impression line top left. Otherwise very light marking to the front.
