Majestic 1090200 Majestic A lovely set of 11 real photo postcards showing the Majestic. They show the vessel in the Ocean Dock (White Star Dock), Southampton. The photos can be dated to the early 1930s as the tug/tender GREETINGS shown on the last card, was purchased from NDL in 1930 (Ex GRUSSGOTT of 1915) and worked in Southampton thereafter. Majestic lasted until 1936. They look to have been taken from someone either visiting the Majestic or taken by a passenger. All the cards have a little light sepia toning, light corner wear and light marking to the reverse except for : Card 5 - The view of the bridge front which has a couple of surface bends and some indentation marks. Card 8 - View of deck with tugs in the background which has a small crease on the top right corner tip. Card 9 - View of lifeboat which has a knock and surface crinkles on the top left corner tip. Card 10 - View of Ocean Dock which has a surface crease/crinkle from the left edge in to the funnel of the first vessel in the dock. Cards are all standard postcard size. (Generally VG) SOLD!
